BILOCACIÓN DE LATIDO (BILOCATION OF THE HEARTBEAT)
“I have buried the one heart, different trees have grown, same heartbeat, different lands."
Bilocation of the Heartbeat explores the migration process from an emotional point of view, recognizing migration as not only the physical act of leaving one's country, city or home but also the transition from a previous way of life. The piece follows the journey of the soloist through points A and B, navigating a range of emotional and mental states along the way. An agitated, dislocated, and chaotic visual poem. Rojas conveys her migratory struggles through an emotional landscape.
